Maximize the performance of your grinding wheels with our innovative dressing tools, engineered to optimize accuracy and increase productivity in your grinding operations.

High precision porous dressing tools

A grinding wheel’s ability to demonstrate optimum grit retention and outstanding stock-removal properties is determined largely by the grinding wheel’s system partner: the dressing tool. Meister Abrasives is a leader in the technological development of porous standing and rotary dressing tools that have a longer service life than comparable products. Those dressers consist of free-cutting structures of high porosity combined with corresponding wear resistance, which significantly improve workpiece quality and process stability. Depending on the requirements profile, the bonds used can be either vitrified, i.e., UltraCut (UC); or hybrid, i.e., Ceramet (CT).

Following decades of experience in the development of vitrified bond systems, Meister Abrasives has further developed its proprietary UltraCut (UC) bond to now suit a range of dressing applications. The uniqueness of the UC bond lies in its very open, porous structure for almost no deflection nor grinding pressure and increased sharpness. The achieved surface quality is supreme with an extremely high tolerance accuracy and no thermal damage.

Meister Abrasives’ innovative and proprietary Ceramet (CT) bond unites the benefits of a porous matrix with exceptional wear resistance and improved cooling properties. The CT bond is based on a hybrid metal-ceramic matrix system with a free-cutting structure which enhances the abrasive wheel’s stock-removal capability in dressing operations. Dressing tools designed with the Ceramet bond exhibit longer lifetime and improved self-sharpening ability.

Application areas

To allow path-controlled dressing of very complex shapes to very close tolerances, the engineers at Meister Abrasives have reinforced the edges of Ceramet bond dressing tools with fortification sticks. These features, combined with the possibility of multiple re-contouring, contribute to a significant reduction in overall process costs. All our bonds have been developed in-house from the very beginning in order to realize the greatest possible flexibility with regard to ever-increasing customer requirements.
